Gone, But Not forgotten

THE RAINBOW BRIDGE

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

Prince

Prince was rescued by us from the animal shelter. He was one of many pit bulls in the shelter, but he had been there quite long and looked like he had given up on being loved. He tugged at our hearts and we brought him home. He died way too early due to kidney disease, but not before etching his place in our hearts. Prince went to the Rainbow Bridge on May 16, 2022.

Mysti

Mysti (aka Mystique) was our sweet cairn terrier/westie mix. She was with us for 16 wonderful years and had the sweetest disposition imaginable. She went to the Rainbow Bridge on December 23, 2020. We still miss her every day.

Fred Van BleAt

Fred was the first goat that we ever rescued. He was named after a local basketball player who now plays in the NBA (Fred Van Vleet). Our poor Freddy was friendly and sweet, but sadly passed away in 2019 from a congenital heart defect.

Nikki

Nikki was the fragile runt of a litter that needed a home after almost being eaten by a snake! We took her in and she spent almost 17 years with us! She was always very small, but her heart was bigger than ever! We loved Nikki so much and are grateful for the years of love that we shared. She went to the Rainbow Bridge on December 16, 2024.

Fiona

We adopted Fiona from a local shelter when her story and picture broke our hearts. She had been delivered to the shelter with a badly infected eye that had to be surgically removed. She was a most affectionate girl who was famous for putting her paw up to everyone who will give her a high five. She passed away very suddenly on December 20, 2025. Her loss broke our hearts but we know she is waiting for us at the Rainbow Bridge.

Rex

While we have lost many chickens, we had to honor Rex. He was the king and protector of the chicks! He risked his own life to save the hens on more than one occasion. Once, he lost the majority of his feathers and all of his tail defending the chicks from two stray dogs that got on the property! Sadly, he succumbed to a mink in 2024.
